Terms and Conditions

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY By accessing EnergyDataScience.com (the "Site") or purchasing any Course you agree to these Terms, which form a legally binding contract with Spyros Giannelos, sole trader, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our").
1. Who we are Business name: Energy Data Science (sole trader) Customer & legal enquiries: support@energydatascience.com Privacy enquiries: privacy@energydatascience.com Energy Data Science is independent of Imperial College London and all other institutions; they bear no responsibility for this Site.
2. Definitions "Course" – any digital training product (video, code, or materials) sold on the Site. "User" / "you" – any visitor, account-holder or purchaser.
3. Eligibility & account creation
3.1 You must be at least 16 years old (or the digital-consent age in your country).
3.2 Provide accurate information and keep login credentials confidential.
3.3 We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
4. Courses and licences
4.1 After full payment you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal, non-commercial use.
4.2 Resale, sharing, screen-recording or public display is prohibited without written consent.
4.3 We may update, replace or discontinue a Course.
• If discontinued, you may choose (a) equivalent access or (b) a pro-rated refund.
5. Prices, payment & taxes
5.1 Prices are in GBP and include UK VAT where applicable.
5.2 Payments are processed securely by Wix Payments (PCI-DSS L1) or PayPal; we never store full card numbers.
5.3 You are responsible for bank charges, exchange fees and local taxes.
5.4 Pricing errors: if an obvious pricing error occurs we may cancel the order, refund you in full and, where feasible, offer purchase at the correct price.
6. Refunds
6.1 Digital courses are non-refundable once accessed. Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have 14 days to cancel, but by clicking "Start Course" or accessing any content, you waive this right and agree to immediate delivery.
6.2 Support subscriptions (email support or sessions) can be cancelled anytime through account settings. Cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current period.
7. User conduct You agree not to:
a) use the Site for unlawful purposes;
b) gain unauthorised access;
c) upload malware;
d) harass others;
e) infringe IP rights.
8. Intellectual property
8.1 All Site and Course content is the intellectual property of Spyros Giannelos or his licensors.
8.2 No licence is granted except as in Section 4.
9. Third-party links & tools Links to GitHub, research papers, etc. are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for third-party content.
10. Disclaimers
10.1 Courses are for educational purposes only and do not constitute professional, engineering or financial advice.
10.2 We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10.3 Nothing limits liability that cannot legally be limited (e.g., death, personal injury, fraud).
11. Limitation of liability Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you paid for the Course giving rise to the claim.
12. Indemnity You will indemnify us against losses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Site.
13. Termination We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms or law. Sections 8–17 survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms We may revise these Terms. Material changes will be posted here and, where feasible, emailed. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers outside the UK also enjoy any mandatory protections under the laws of their country of residence.

17. Site closure & force majeure
17.1 We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, war, internet outages).
17.2 If such an event continues 30 days, either party may terminate in writing.
17.3 If the owner dies, becomes insolvent or permanently closes the Site, lifetime access ends and no further refunds are due.
18. Entire agreement & severability
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding the Site and Courses. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in full force.
